Janet Smith has been a dedicated member of the Grandview community since 1970, investing decades of service into the people and programs that make the town special. Her commitment to local youth began in 1977, when she started volunteering with the Grandview youth sports program by coaching recreational soft ball, eventually founding the Grandview Youth Association in 1995. From football and softball to baseball and basketball, Janet has faithfully shown up year after year with one priority—supporting and encouraging young athletes.

In recognition of her lasting impact, the Grandview Youth Association board unanimously voted to name Field #1 at the GYA complex Janet Smith Field, honoring her legacy for generations to come. A custom sign on the field will serve as a reminder of the countless hours she has dedicated to the community.

Janet retired from Grandview Bank after 42 years of service and continues to stay active as a Grandview ISD school bus driver. She is also involved with the Grandview Lions Club and remains a familiar, welcoming presence across the community. Janet enjoys time with her six nieces and nephews and her energetic two-year-old dog, Coach.

She is excited about the Chamber’s growth and the new opportunities it brings to Grandview, and she continues to be a shining example of what it means to serve with heart.
