Connie Wood and her family have had ties to Grandview for many years. Her husband, Jim, coached volleyball at Grandview High School, and their daughter is a proud Grandview High School graduate. More recently, Connie and Jim built their forever home on their daughter and son-in-law’s property, giving them the opportunity to put down even deeper roots in a community that has long been close to their hearts.

Connie spent 20 years as an educator with Joshua ISD before retiring five years ago. Retirement opened the door to a new passion for health and wellness, and she now works full-time as a Metabolic Reset Coach, helping others improve their health and well-being. She also works part-time with CASA of Johnson County, where she has served for the past three years. Supporting children through CASA continues to fulfill what Connie calls her “teacher heart.”

Her commitment to young people also extends into Grandview, where she volunteers with Mentors Care at Grandview High School, encouraging and supporting students. Connie attends St. Ann Catholic Church and is a member of the Daughters of St. Ann.

Connie and Jim have been married for 37 years and are the proud parents of four children—Jazz, Bree, Cody, and Holly—and grandparents to Hudson, Landon, and Blakley. Their family also includes Dyson, their dog, with plans to add a few more critters as they settle into homesteading life. In her free time, Connie enjoys hiking, gardening, painting, traveling, spending time outdoors, and, most of all, time with her family.

With her grandchildren attending school in Grandview, Connie has an especially personal investment in the community’s future. Now that she has more time to serve, she looks forward to getting to know more of her neighbors, becoming more involved, and helping Grandview remain a wonderful place for families to live, learn, and grow—all while preserving the small-town charm that makes the community special.
